Who We Are!

Matushi Village Project

The Matushi Village Project (MVP) has a heart for Zambia and its people and is in a unique position to make a difference. Co-Founders Ryan and Ever Moore have made it their mission to build Matushi its very first high school. Ryan’s love for the Matushi community developed during his Peace Corps service from 2007-2009. Ever Moore was born and raised in Zambia, has family in Matushi, and is a direct link to Matushi and its people. Our time and connections to Zambia give MVP easy access to the area and have helped us form a trustworthy group Zambian counterparts to assist us with our projects.

Our Founding

The Matushi Village Project was created in 2017, by Ryan and Ever Moore, in response to Matushi’s need for a high school. For over a decade the Zambian government had promised to build the community a high school but never did. Hopelessness, empty promises, unemployment, and teenage pregnancy, were running rampant in Matushi, and were creating a desperate situation for the areas youth. Ryan and Ever Moore saw this and felt compelled to step in. In June of 2017, MVP, the Zambian government, and the Matushi community, formed a partnership with the end goal of building Matushi its very first high school. The Zambian government agreed to fully staff the school with government-trained teachers (Making the school sustainable) and MVP agreed to raise funds to build the high school infrastructure. We are currently working on making this project a reality.
